For Alexandra and Antonin Kinova, the 5th time is the charm.
Generally, you ‘d be overwhelmed with joy at the simple fact of welcoming your little one into the world. Having said that, for one couple living in the Czech Republic, there’s much more than a single reason to be grateful this season, as they greeted their children- yes, you read that right; CHILDREN.
The pair, Antonin and Alexandra Kinova, were familiar with infants because they already had a youngster. They were all the more excited and eager to learn of the newest addition to their household. However, things got much more exciting when they found out that they would be having not only one, but two infants.
Taking into account the fact that Alexandra and Antonin both came from relatives with extensive past records of twins, they were preparing to carry on the family (or in this case, families) tradition.
While in the process of making preparations for their new child, Alexandra and Antonin, who are both from Milovice (a city in the Czech Republic) learned from their health care provider that instead of just one baby, they would be having a set of twins. Upon finding out of this latest development, the couple, packed with excitement, started to make preparations for the new additions that will be added to the family.
It wasn’t particularly a curveball, considering that they came from families with extensive histories of having twins.
Nevertheless, almost immediately, their doctor contacted the couple and arranged a meeting to re-diagnose.
The next ting the physician stated was something that they certainly never even thought they ‘d hear. The physician showed the couple the ultrasound again and when they analyzed it, the doctor broke the news to them plainly; the couple was not anticipating one infant or two … but 4 bundles of joy!
You ‘d think the news would stop there, correct?
Well, it didn’t.
A month later, Alexandra went in for yet another ultrasound and this time, it was revealed that there was still one more little one in her tummy!
“When we finally discovered that there was a fifth baby, I started to burst into tears”, said Alexandra. Naturally, the possibilities that this lady was going to conceive five babies a once were one in seven million. Still, Alexandra was determined to breastfeed all of them.
When it was inevitably time for Alexandra to deliver, the hospital supplied twice the normal amount of delivery personnel to cater for this delivery. This doubling also consisted of midwives and medical professionals, and this implies that the total number of staff available for the delivery was just about 40. The head doctor of the hospital’s neonatal department reported that the procedure went on flawlessly, without a single drawback recorded.
When it was all said and done, the young couple welcomed 5 new members into their household; 4 little boys and 1 little girl.
The boys were named Deniel, Alex, Michael, and Martin while the lovely couple named their beautiful little girl Tereza. All babies were born in a strong state, and there has been not one single overall health complication reported from the mom and her new babies.
“In this particular country, we have been actively recording stats of birth since 1949 and in that time, there has certainly never once been a mention of quintuplets. As a matter f fact, quintuplets are born in the Czech Republic one time in every 480 years on an average”, said doctor Alena Mechurova.
