I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.
Romans 1:16
Never Ashamed
Sometimes no matter how hard we try, we just don’t fit into our surroundings. Whether in a crowd of people very different than we are or exploring a new culture on vacation, we simply can’t hide our differences. We may feel like the proverbial sore thumb, sticking out as a newcomer, a transfer, or a tourist, apologizing for our extra questions or lack of familiarity with procedure or etiquette.
However, we never have to apologize or feel ashamed for being a follower of Jesus. Sometimes we may cringe when we see other people who claim to know God condemning others, lying about circumstances, or acting hypocritically. Yes, this may create a false impression of believers in other people’s minds. All the more reason, we must reflect the goodness, grace, and gentleness of Christ.
Today, make it clear to those around you that you love Jesus—not by what you say but by what you do.
Pray: “Jesus, I want to be a light in the darkness, drawing others to your love and the gift of salvation. Shine through me so that others see your truth.”
